Gary Wipfler retired from his position as Vice President and Corporate Treasurer, Apple in October of 2021 after 35 years with the company. As VP & Treasurer at Apple, Wipfler was responsible for the company’s cash and investments, foreign exchange, treasury operations, corporate finance, risk management, investor relations, credit/debit card payment platforms, and capital structure including debt issuance and return of capital. In addition to these activities, Wipfler spent his last two years at Apple forming and co-chairing Apple's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Steering Committee.
Wipfler's wealth of experience will be a great asset to the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation and reinforces the Foundation's commitment to financial stewardship and ESG analysis and responsibility. Wipfler joins at an exciting time for the Foundation as we advance transformative initiatives including the Applied Design Center for Technology, Human Enhancement Research Group and continued Defense Innovation Funding for innovative NPS faculty and student research projects.
